Here is another canondrum which has been interesting me... Eragons dream..
I just wonder if it isn't more then just a dream:
"He watched as a group of people on proud horses approached a lonely river. Many had silver hair and carried tall lances. A strange fair ship waited for them, shinning under a bright moon. The figures slowly boarded the vessel; two of them, taller then the rest, walked arm in arm. Thier faces were onscured by cowls, but he could tell that one was a women. They stood on the deck of the ship and faced the shore. A man stood alone on the pebble beach, the only one who had not boarded the ship. He threw back his head and let out a long aching cry. As it faded, the ship glided down the river, without a breeze or oars, out into the flat empty land. The vision clouded, but just before it disappeared, Eragon glimpsed two dragons in the sky."
Ok over to you...what could all of this mean...is this the final scene of the last book?
Could the two characters on the ships be Eragon and maybe Arya? The two dragons Saphira and the green one.. And the man who is left behind...maybe thats Roran...he couldn't follow them because he has a wife...
Reminds me of the end of Lord of the Rings where they sail to the elven lands...

I just had a brilliant idea for this one. The man left behind is Eragon, and the people getting on the ship are the elves. Arya is one of the tall people, and the other is the one sh loves or whatever. They are leaving the land to go soemwhere else. The dragons are Saphira's offspring.
or
The man left behind is Roran, and he wants to come with them but can't because he has a wife, and his place is there. Eragon and Arya are the two taller people. Eragon is leaving Allagaesia forever, the dragons are Saphira, and the Green one which hatched for Roran. Eragon has proved himself to Arya, and is going with the elves.

I think your second idea would be the most likely one..
If anybody is going to leave it will most likely be Eragon and Arya...
After all the prophesy said that Eragon would leave alagesia and never return..so this would explain it beautyfully.
If this also includes the dragons then maybe its for the best... After all its the riders who caused the problems in the first place...if they left...maybe the problems would seize...

it would be really funny if you are all wrong and it is actually Galbatrox and his wife he gets in the future who are boarding the ship and the person on the beach is. . . .some one

Very yes, and also it would be funny if the next book didn't say anything about this dream and that was all it was, a dream!

Take this as an example...
The two on the boat are Galbatorix and his wife which Eragon brings back when we visits the vault of souls...
The one on the beach is eragon wishing Galbatorix and his nely found wife farewell.
(Galbatorix can't stay after all he has done...so he leaves..to some place...never to return.
Eragon stays behind but also leaves Algaesia to live with Arya ...but that happens later..
would be a perfect surprise ending...no body would expect Galbatorix leaving...
"Forgive him friends...forgive him since he has found what was lost....and lost his anger in the process ...fear him no more.." sort of ending

Hm... I like that idea. It's interesting. It's unique. It's quite the twist that most people wouldn't see coming. (Does that mean that you have a twisted mind? XP) It would be a really cool ending, and it would be rather like Paolini's style. He introduced some of the Urgals as good guys, I suppose it's possible he might try it with Galby, too. I would really like it, but there would probably be some people (I know a few, actually XD) who wouldn't. My friend Taylor would hit the fan... *chuckles*
